The Thurles St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee are delighted to announce the Tipperary Rose Laura Durkan is to be our very special guest for the Thurles Parade 2020.
This year we have put aside the St. Patrick’s Day Parade bucket collection in favour of a very worthy cause, the North Tipperary Hospice Movement. The Clonakenny Hospice Movement are showcasing their Mr. & Mrs fundraiser show in the parade and are collecting as they parade through the town. We would ask people to give generously and help in resourcing the care that the movement so wonderfully provides.
Thurles St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place in Thurles on Tuesday 17th March 2020 Liberty Square Thurles assembling in Abbey Road at 2.30pm for Parade start at 3pm.
The theme this year is “Celebrating Local Achievements”.
We want groups or individuals to showcase their achievements, whether it’s in the field of sporting, music, arts, drama, dancing, cooking, haute couture, green schools etc. it would be wonderful to see the success stories of the community locally and beyond.
For the Parade 2020, we would like to have an involvement by children and adults that have never been in a parade. If you are not in group, team or club. Organise to participate, whether it be a neighbourhood, a street, a group of children getting together with an idea for a float or adults banding together to promote a cause they support.
Entries are in with a chance to win a cash prize or a prize Cup on the day. Each member that takes part will also receive a medal.
Come and visit the Reptile Zoo in lower Liberty Square, which will make a return visit for the Thurles Parade 2020. Feel a slippery snake slither through your hands, pat a lizard on his scaly back and watch these creatures up close and at close quarters.
We would like to thank all our sponsors to date, and the generous contributions of the people of Moyne, Borrisoleigh and Thurles.
